The Houston Gulf Coast Building & Construction Trades Council’s Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP/MC3) is accepting applications for its upcoming training program, giving participants the opportunity to prepare for a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship at no cost.
The program is designed for individuals ready to build a long-term career through paid, hands-on training. Graduates can transition into Registered Apprenticeship Programs where they earn while they learn, receive healthcare and pension benefits, and gain the skills needed for careers in high-demand construction trades.
What You’ll Learn
The program covers essential industry skills, including:
- Construction industry orientation
- OSHA 10 and CPR certification
- Blueprint reading
- Basic construction math
- Construction tools and materials
- Financial literacy
- Green construction
- Career readiness
Why Apply?
Registered Apprentices work full time while completing classroom instruction, allowing them to gain valuable experience without taking on tuition debt. First-year apprentices typically earn $15–$25 per hour plus benefits, with scheduled wage increases throughout the apprenticeship. Upon completion, many earn $25–$45 per hour plus benefits.
