Young people in Houston ages 16 to 24 who are ready to explore what’s next can meet with local employers and connect with community resources at the Be Someone Take II Youth Career Exploration & Hiring Fair on Tuesday, September 15. The event, held at Sunnyside Health and Multi-Service Center, is designed to help young job seekers start a career or continue their education.

The job fair is open to youth ages 16 to 24, whether they’re exploring career pathways for the first time, looking to enter the workforce, or figuring out how to continue their education. Attendees can meet with employers who are hiring, learn about community resources and connect with workforce advisors.

For young job seekers still deciding what direction to take, having employers and workforce advisors in the same room can make it easier to compare options and ask questions directly, rather than researching career paths on their own.
Come Prepared
Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resume, along with work authorization documents such as a state ID, school ID, birth certificate, Social Security card or passport. Having these on hand can help move conversations with employers further along during the event.
