Building a resume and preparing for an interview are two important parts of any job search. As part of its Pearland Career Success Workshop series, Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast is helping job seekers strengthen both skills through a two-part, hands-on workshop.
The Pearland Career Success Workshop: Resume Building & Interview Skills covers resume development, interview preparation and practical strategies job seekers can use during their search. The next sessions are scheduled for September 22 at the Pearland Tom Reid Library.

The workshop is part of a career series designed to provide job seekers with practical guidance on resume building, job search strategies and interview preparation.
Build Your Resume, Step by Step
The first session is a build-along workshop where participants can work on their resume as they follow the instruction.
Each teaching segment is followed by time to complete worksheets and apply what was covered. By the end of the session, participants will have a finished resume draft they can continue refining and use in their job search.
Get Prepared & Show Up Interview Ready
The second session focuses on helping job seekers prepare for different interview situations. Participants will learn about seven interview formats and develop two to three reusable STAR stories to help them talk about their experience during interviews.
The session also includes a live mock interview with real partner feedback, giving participants a chance to practice their responses. A follow-up template will also be provided to help job seekers stay connected after an interview.
