Parents interested in starting a career in healthcare can now apply for the next Multi-Generational Healthcare Career Acceleration Program, an eight-week workforce initiative that combines healthcare training for adults with educational programming for their children.
Hosted by Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast, the program is designed to help parents prepare for careers in healthcare while providing a structured learning environment for participating youth. By offering services for both generations at the same time, the program helps reduce one of the most common barriers adults face when pursuing education and workforce training.
Program Details
- Program Dates: August 17 – October 12, 2026
During the program, participants receive healthcare career training, workforce guidance, and support from Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast staff as they prepare to enter one of the region’s fastest-growing industries.
Eligible participants may also receive Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services and scholarship opportunities.

- WIOA services for eligible participants
- Educational and enrichment activities for participating children
- Guidance toward continued education and employment
Building on Previous Success
The most recent cohort demonstrated the program’s family-centered approach to workforce development.
Eleven parents enrolled in the program, and every participant successfully earned a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Fourteen youth participated in educational and enrichment activities while their parents completed training.
Following graduation, nine participants expressed interest in continuing their education through WIOA scholarship opportunities. Others indicated plans to pursue additional healthcare certifications or enter the healthcare workforce.

The Multi-Generational Healthcare Career Acceleration Program helps participants gain the skills and credentials needed to begin that career path while supporting their families throughout the training process.
