Community Celebrates Grand Opening of Workforce Solutions – Texas City Career Office

Community members, business leaders, and public officials gathered on Thursday morning to celebrate the official grand opening of the new Workforce Solutions – Texas City Career Office at the Mainland City Centre. The open house event marked a new chapter for the organization’s mission to connect job seekers and employers across Galveston County.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held at 10000 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, welcomed dozens of guests for a morning of celebration, networking, and guided tours of the newly relocated office. The event underscored Workforce Solutions’ commitment to providing high-quality employment services throughout the Gulf Coast region.

Executive Director of Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast, Juliet Stipeche opened the program. Following her remarks, Gulf Coast Workforce Board Chair Mark Guthrie welcomed attendees and emphasized the strategic importance of the Texas City location in expanding regional access to workforce services. Additional speakers included Rene Solis, Chief Program Officer at BakerRipley; Jennifer Bridgeford, Office Manager of Workforce Solutions – Texas City; and Kristin Edwards, Economic Development Director for the City of Texas City.

The program also featured a heartfelt testimonial from Bradley James of Danner’s, Inc., a local employer who shared how Workforce Solutions has helped match businesses like his with skilled and motivated talent.

After the ribbon was officially cut, guests were invited inside for staff-led tours and a light reception. The new facility showcases expanded offerings, including career counseling, transportation and continuing education support, early childhood education resources, and employer-focused services like talent acquisition assistance.

The Texas City office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is one of 28 offices serving the 13-county Gulf Coast region.
