April 25, 2025

More than 70 local elected officials, employers, and community leaders gathered Thursday at the Houston-Galveston Area Council for the second in a series of community meetings introducing the Gulf Coast Workforce Board’s five-year Strategic Plan.

The event featured Executive Director of GCWFB Juliet Stipeche and Parker Harvey, Manager of Regional Economic Analysis, alongside representatives from community-based organizations, employers, and government leaders.

Collaboration to the Workforce System

Stipeche and Harvey led the presentation of the Gulf Coast Workforce Board’s regional strategic plan, which focuses on reimagining the workforce system across the 13-county Gulf Coast region. The event served as a platform to connect with local stakeholders, gather input, and present the plan’s priorities.

The five-year plan is built around four interconnected strategic goals:

  1. Supporting business-forward strategies to fuel the regional economy
  2. Improving service delivery through technology and innovative solutions
  3. Serving as a convener and forging strategic partnerships
  4. Increasing awareness of workforce services and opportunities

Building a Stronger Gulf Coast

With a mission to help employers meet workforce needs and individuals build meaningful careers, the Gulf Coast Workforce Board serves as a key driver of economic development across the region—delivering targeted strategies that address the unique needs of both businesses and job seekers.

Additional community meetings are planned in the coming months to expand access, strengthen partnerships, and support workforce innovation across the Gulf Coast. Stay tuned for more.
