Guy Jackson brings a deep sense of community commitment and local perspective to the Gulf Coast Workforce Board. Representing Chambers County, Jackson serves as president and chairman of the board of Chambers County Abstract, a family-owned title insurance company with roots stretching back to 1875. With a professional life grounded in a long-standing local business, he understands the value of stability, community relationships, and the role employers play in shaping regional opportunity.

Jackson’s path to the board was unexpected but meaningful. He recalls receiving a call from his county judge when the position needed to be filled. “Nobody else wanted to take this position,” he said. The judge appointed him to serve, and what began as a simple request soon became something he genuinely enjoyed. Since then, Jackson has embraced the opportunity to contribute to workforce development across the region.

Over the years, he has watched the board’s impact grow significantly. Reflecting on more than two decades of involvement, Jackson points to the increasing range and quality of services available to both employers and job seekers. “The level of services that we are providing now is far greater than it was when I first started 26 years ago,” he explained. For Jackson, the key to continued success lies in staying responsive to the community’s needs as they arise. By adapting to changing demands, he believes the board can keep strengthening the region’s workforce and help Houston remain an attractive place for both employment and business growth.

Outside of his professional and board responsibilities, Jackson’s dedication to service continues. He has long believed in giving back to the communities that have shaped his life. His involvement includes work with the Galveston Bay Foundation and decades of local engagement, including a unique role as the announcer for Anahuac football games for 33 years. Along the way, he has also helped form several nonprofit organizations, driven by a sense of gratitude and responsibility. As he puts it, he knows he has been fortunate, and giving back is something he takes seriously.

For Jackson, service is not just a role: it’s a mindset. Whether through business, public service, or community involvement, he continues to look for ways to contribute to the place he calls home and to the people who make the region thrive.
