NRG Arena was buzzing with energy today as veterans, transitioning service members, military families, and job seekers gathered for Hiring Red, White & You 2025, one of Texas’ largest annual hiring events connecting those who served with employers eager to hire.
Hosted by Workforce Solutions in partnership with the Texas Veterans Network powered by Combined Arms, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, and the Texas Medical Center.
The day began with a Salute to Service ceremony at 9:00 a.m., setting a respectful and uplifting tone. Veterans and service members were given early access to employers from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the event opened to the public.
Throughout the arena, attendees explored over a hundred employer booths and veteran service organizations, while others stopped by the dedicated resume and interview area for hands-on guidance and networking.
“This is an event that is one of many that happens across the state of Texas, but this is the largest one,” said Juliet Stipeche, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions. “We have tons of opportunities, scholarships, training opportunities, and information on childcare.”
The event’s scale and focus made it a unique space where veterans could directly connect their skills to real opportunities. “We really want folks to be able to connect to the Workforce Solutions system,” Stipeche shared.
Jayda Snell, a recruiter with Northwestern Mutual Houston, said, “It’s been a fantastic time. I love meeting people… So, I’m really just interested in connecting with different people from different backgrounds, which I’ve met some great people, some veterans, and some civilians, so it’s been a great experience.”
When asked if she’d return, Snell didn’t hesitate: “Absolutely, I hope we’re on the list for next time.”
Workforce Solutions leaders emphasized that Red, White & You is more than a single-day job fair, it’s part of a broader mission.
“At Workforce Solutions, we are on a mission to make sure that we impact all of our communities and all of our 12 counties in the region,” shared Joel Jackson of Workforce Solutions.
He encouraged attendees to continue engaging beyond the event, inviting them to come into Workforce Solution’s career offices.
By the end of the event, hundreds of veterans and job seekers had exchanged contact information, discovered training programs, and explored new directions for their careers.
“Red, White & You 2025 has been nothing but incredible,” stated Jackson.
