Education leaders, workforce professionals, employers, and community partners came together at the Texas Gulf Coast Workforce Summit – Education Regional Summit to explore innovative strategies for developing the region’s future workforce. Hosted at Lone Star College on July 18, the summit welcomed more than 180 attendees for a day of collaboration, professional development, and workforce planning centered on one of the Gulf Coast’s most essential industries.
As the third and final event in the Texas Gulf Coast Workforce Summit summer series—following regional summits focused on construction and healthcare/life sciences—the event highlighted the importance of aligning education, workforce development, and industry to prepare individuals for high-demand careers while helping employers meet evolving workforce needs.
Supporting Job Seekers Through Workforce on Wheels
Throughout the summit, Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast connected attendees with career services through its Workforce on Wheels mobile career center. Participants received one-on-one assistance with résumé development, job search strategies, WorkInTexas registration, career exploration, and information about workforce programs and training opportunities.
Attendees also participated in a LinkedIn workshop, where they learned practical strategies for building a stronger professional profile, expanding their network, and using the platform to support their job search.
