A job interview can be easier to navigate when you know what to expect and take a little time to prepare. Shelby with Integrated Staffing and Payroll Solutions shared three simple reminders for job seekers getting ready for an upcoming interview.
1. Arrive on Time
Showing up on time is one of the easiest ways to start an interview on the right foot. Plan your route ahead of time and give yourself enough time to account for traffic, parking or other delays.
2. Come Prepared
Shelby also recommends bringing your résumé with you. Having an updated copy on hand gives you a reference during the conversation and makes it easier to review your experience with the interviewer.
Preparation can also include reviewing the position beforehand and thinking about the experience and skills you want to discuss.
3. Have Questions Ready
An interview is also an opportunity for you to learn more about the employer and the position. Shelby recommends having questions ready for the end of the interview.
Think about what you would like to know about the position, the workplace or what the employer is looking for in the person they hire. Having a few questions prepared can help you make the most of the conversation.
