Jenna Bolam, a first-year teacher at New Waverly High School, teamed up with Workforce Solutions to coordinate a job fair for her students. With Workforce Solutions handling the logistics and school staff guiding students every step of the way, the event gave students a real chance to practice professional skills, land interviews, and even secure jobs.
Students were engaged from the very beginning, helping create flyers and building excitement for the event. The school’s goal was to help students find jobs for the summer or spring semester.
The Job Fair was held in the school gym, where students came prepared with resumes and interview questions.
Local employers and businesses managed the setup, introduced themselves to students and guided them through the process. After the event, they followed up with the school to share their impressions.
The result? Staff and students reported that the event was a success! Many students secured jobs in a variety of fields, including restaurants, summer camps, and other roles suited to their interests and skills.
