Juliet Stipeche, Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Workforce Board (GCWFB), will speak at an upcoming LinkedIn webinar, “Powering Workforce Success with LinkedIn Tools,” on Thursday, May 8 from 10–11 AM CT. The session will spotlight how the organization uses LinkedIn Recruiter, Talent Insights, and LinkedIn Job Postings to enhance regional workforce development efforts.
Serving a 13-county area, Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast (WFS-GC) works with multiple service providers—BakerRipley, Interfaith Ministries, EQUUS, and Serco—to use LinkedIn Recruiter for sourcing candidates, reaching out to job seekers, and directing them to apply on WorkInTexas.com.
Currently, WFS-GC utilizes 24 LinkedIn Recruiter licenses and 3 Hiring Project Creator licenses, making the platform a key tool in its recruiting operations. By applying filters for location, experience, and skills, the team helps match employers with qualified candidates.
One example to be shared in the webinar is the hiring of a candidate named Anthony Bailey, who applied to a WFS-GC opportunity through LinkedIn. That individual later collaborated with the recruiter who placed him to post another position—ultimately hiring someone else through LinkedIn, illustrating how the platform supports ongoing talent pipelines.
Beyond recruiting, WFS-GC also leverages LinkedIn Talent Insights to provide labor market intelligence to employers. Insights include data on the talent supply, top employers in specific roles, salary benchmarks, and education pathways. The team used this data to assist employers such as TTEC, a global tech services firm, in identifying regions rich in call center talent.
WFS-GC also maintains a presence on LinkedIn to promote hiring events, community initiatives, and job programs like Hire Gulf Coast Youth, which offers summer job opportunities for young people ages 16–24.
