This May, Workforce Solutions brought together young adults, employers, and community partners through multiple Hire Gulf Coast Youth Summer Jobs Initiative events held at the George Memorial Library in Richmond and the Alief Community Center.

Designed to help youth prepare for the future, these events created opportunities for participants to explore career pathways, connect with employers, and learn about the workforce resources available to support their long-term success.

For many young adults, summer is a chance to gain experience, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward a future career. Throughout both events, attendees had the opportunity to:

  • Meet with employers and learn about available opportunities
  • Explore career and education pathways
  • Connect with workforce professionals and community partners
  • Receive guidance and resources to support future success

The enthusiasm and engagement shown by participants reflected the value of creating spaces where young people can ask questions, build connections, and discover new possibilities for their future.

Workforce Solutions is proud to work alongside employers and community partners to create opportunities that support youth career exploration and workforce readiness. By helping young adults connect with employers and valuable resources, these events contribute to building a skilled and prepared workforce for the future.
